My aim was to illustrate the inner conflict of a man torn between remorse and the inability
to accept the finality of past actions. I am a big fan of classic black and white films from the
50s and 60s such as Rashomon, Lord of the Flies and The Seventh Seal and adopted the cinematic
style from this genre as a means to present a voice from the past, offering the audience the
impression they are perhaps watching a piece of work from a time capsule, long lost and revealed
years later.
